Here I have for sale the UK release of the original soundtrack LP to 'The Return of the Soldier' (1982) by Richard Rodney Bennett. The film starred Alan Bates and Julie Christie.

Condition (refer also to notes at bottom):
Vinyl – VG. Clean on visual inspection. Played just pre-listing and sound clarity is generally very good throughout. Some distortion/light surface noise and the odd click/pop in places.
Cover – G-VG. Colours remain vibrant and unfaded. Minor edge/corner wear damage and some creasing. Clear signs of rubbing along top plus 3cm dropout in the centre. Vein-like creases in from edges. Small dent on ‘The’ of film title. Some residue in top right corner where original price sticker once was. Only slight aperture wear. Reverse side is clean overall; just a few minor marks and creases. Disc showthrough outline evident on front and reverse.
Sleeve – EX. Original. Clear plastic. Creasing and folding but intact.

About the film:
The Return of the Soldier is a 1982 British film starring Alan Bates as Baldry and co-starring Julie Christie, Ian Holm, Glenda Jackson, and Ann-Margret about a shell-shocked officer's return from the First World War.

It was directed by Alan Bridges and written by Hugh Whitemore based on the novel of the same name by Rebecca West. The film was entered into the 1982 Cannes Film Festival.

The film was the first to be given a PG certificate by the British Board of Film Classification.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.

POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.
