Rick Dees Disco Duck vinyl RSO records 1977. This time capsule back to 70s kitsch is here to remind all of us that Crazy Frog is not some kind of 21st century anomaly, back in 1976 there was yet another so-bad-it's-a-classic piece of insipid crap pre-programmed by promoters to suck the allowances out of little kids. Certainly it must have required a cast of idiots to perform but the marketing guys weren't so silly. Imagine (if you can) Uncle Scrooge providing a bunch of dumb backing vocals to the Michael Zager Band or the Village People. The duck is really annoying and the music is of course utterly disposable. In fact it sounds like an out-take from that Mad Magazine disco flexidisc, so similar is its crapness. If you weren't born when this song came out and your parents were born in the 60s, ask them whether they liked it when they were kids -- if they deny it be sure to shout "liars!"
