Classic late-60s psych-tinged blue-eyed soul on Quad Records catalog QU 108. This is the promo 45 pressing of Frozen Sunshine with the distinct B-side “Julie Makes It Right” (not the Ranwood issue - which also has different instrumentation).

Frozen Sunshine on Quad is a different take from the Ranwood release and does not feature the same arrangement, and the B-side is completely different from the Ranwood flip. The Ranwood is frankly inferior in my opinion; but to each their own.

Label Details: Quad promotional label white label and typical wear. But white is crisp besides the little ring you see in photos.

Vinyl Condition: Graded VG. There are a few light marks and some initial crackle in the lead-in/dead air, but once playback begins it plays much closer to VG+ with strong sound and only minor surface noise.

Frozen Sunshine is a killer psych / blue-eyed soul crossover track with a hazy melodic feel. Julie Makes It Right is a solid, soulful B-side and far from filler.

An honest, great-playing copy of a scarce and genuinely cool psych-soul 45, especially hard to find as a Quad promo. I debated letting go of this one — even in VG.

45 RPM GRADING SCALE (Singles)

NOTE ON “MINT”:

Same philosophy applies here: mint exists. Especially with 45s, which were often played hard, a truly mint copy is rare but absolutely real. I don’t use the grade lightly, but I don’t pretend it’s imaginary either.

MINT (M):

Perfect, unplayed or essentially unhandled. Full gloss, pristine labels, no spindle marks. Extremely rare for vintage 45s.

NEAR MINT (NM or NM-):

Outstanding copy. Full gloss, very clean labels with minimal or no spindle marks. Plays beautifully with little to no surface noise.

VG+:

Excellent collector copy. Strong gloss with light sleeve scuffs or faint marks. Labels may show minor spindle wear. Plays very well with minimal noise.

VG:

Noticeable surface wear and/or label wear. Light noise is present but does not overpower the music. Still an enjoyable listen.

GOOD (G) / GOOD+ (G+):

Heavy wear, surface noise, and visible marks. May have label writing or significant wear. Still playable but clearly a used copy.

FAIR (F):

Very worn with loud noise, scratches, or possible skipping. Label damage likely.

POOR (P):

Cracked, badly warped, or unplayable. Included only as a placeholder or for display.
