Price: $150.00
Label: RCA / BMG Music
Catalog #: 9817-1-R
Format: Vinyl, LP, Compilation, Stereo
Country: US
Released: 1989
Condition Summary
- Vinyl (LP): Excellent (EX). A beautiful, high-gloss copy. The wax is exceptionally clean and retains its original mirror-like luster. There are no deep marks or scratches; only a few extremely faint surface "hairlines" visible under direct bright light that do not affect play. Labels are bright and clean.
- Outer Sleeve: Very Good (VG). Displays some typical shelf wear and light rubbing on the edges and corners consistent with a 35+ year-old jacket. The spine is intact and fully readable.
- Inner Sleeve: Good (G). Includes the original RCA "Nipper" logo inner sleeve. It shows significant age-related wear and has been reinforced with tape, but is included for historical completeness.
Collector’s & Audiophile Notes
This is a high-end copy of a genuinely rare 1989 compilation. Most Rick Springfield albums are common, but by 1989, vinyl production was being phased out in favor of CDs, making this specific pressing a "low-print" rarity.
Premium Mastering: This copy features the Artisan Sound logo in the deadwax and credit on the jacket. It was mastered by the legendary Greg Fulginiti, known for producing a warm, organic, and highly dynamic soundstage—ideal for high-end systems.
Retail Edition: This is the official retail version (Barcode: 078635981711), not a BMG Club edition or a "cut-out" promo, which increases its long-term collectible value.
Late-Era Tracks: This is one of the few places to find the 1988 hit "Rock of Life" on a vintage US vinyl compilation.
