Description
Ricky Nelson, 2nd LP, UK PLUM LONDON, VERY NR/MINT
Ricky Nelson,
Ricky's scarce 1958 second UK LP.UK pressed London mono LP, H-AP 2119. Earliest plum label with silver print, 1B/1B matrices.
One of a small handful of LPs I acquired from a private collection which had clearly been hardly played and very carefully stored for the last fifty years or so.
A beautifully clean near mint issue. A few spider trail marks are visible around the centre spindle areas, but not excessively so. Vinyl surfaces have a very shiny lustre still, however, and are free of any marks. Labels are also bright, clean, and free of inscriptions or damage. Clearly a very carefully played and handled LP.
Plyaback is very bright and clean throughout, and without any background crackle, ticks or clicks.
Original inner liner in undamaged, crisp and bright condition.
Early fully laminated flimsy sleeve also exceptionally well preserved, and with that lustre so often lost over the years. Free of sticker marks or inscriptions, and with unworn extremities. Entry side crisp and not feathered, with just a few of the very tiniest of dinks. The slightest touches of handling creasing evident, but this really is to a minimum and hardly detracts.
All in all a really super issue however. This one will be tough to upgrade.
