Description
Selected titles from the private collection of a music business veteran are now being made available for the first time. Titles offered by this Seller are one-owner and came directly from the pressing plant, record company warehouse, other label reps or record store unless otherwise noted.
Grading is based on visual inspection.
Album ships in a 2 MIL poly cover sleeve and a 2 MIL poly inner sleeve.
I package records outside the cover to avoid seam splits.
New and vintage vinyl is hard to grade strictly using eBay’s system because the record and the cover are two different components. Therefore, I call a record new and mint if it is opened but has never been played. I use the grading category to describe the cover condition.
- This is an extremely rare copy. Why?
- This is the 1971 First Edition on the United Artists label. Subsequent reissues were on Liberty in1980 and Imperial/EMI in 1990.
- These are the Original Mono Recordings (see back cover photos). 'Stereo' is a misprint on the labels.
- These records are on thick vinyl and have never been played.
- Nelson is arguably the one who popularized rock 'n roll performances on TV in the weekly series, "Ozzie and Harriet". He performed one of these songs with his band (which included Elvis' future guitar player James Burton) in the family living room before a group of his friends and family at the end of the TV show every week.
- This double LP includes all of his hits (26 tracks) up through the 1960's.
- The 12x12 booklet is 8 pages of liner notes, rare photos and a discography. The booklet is attached to the gatefold spine.
- The liner notes are by renowned music critic Ed Ward.
- The art design is by famed photographer Norman Seeff.
- Paintings are by Bob Zoell.
- Album concept by Martin Cerf & Bill Roberts.
- The gatefold cover has tight seams, a stiff spine and shows no wear. The cover has a matte finish. None of the subsequent reissues had the textured, matte cover.
- The drill hole upper right indicates this was a from-stock Promo.
- I have included soft poly inner sleeves.
- This is a one-owner that the Seller got new from the United Artists records rep in his record store in 1971. It has been in storage for 48 years.
