Rico - Warrika (Wareika) Dub/Ghetto Rockers ORIGINAL 1977 LP.
This is an original 1977 CBS pressing (UK) for Island Records of the 9 Track DUB VERSION of Rico's "Man from Wareika" album.

Although the labels LOOK as though they are handwritten, they are actually printed and identical on both sides of the album. The only way you can tell them apart is by looking at the number of tracks on each side ; 4 on one and 5 on the other.
The album was sold direct to independent stores and came in a plain, black paper sleeve with the label section cut out. No other information was printed on the sleeve.
I have kept this record, unplayed and stored in a polylined album sleeve (see photos) for 40+ years.
PLEASE NOTE ; Until I decided to list this record it had remained UNPLAYED. I have played it ONCE before listing it (on a Cambridge Audio Alva deck - stylus weight at the recommended 2g) in order to clarify the following point ;
There is a mark on one side of the vinyl - It is typical of nearly all CBS 7" records pressed throughout the mid 70s to mid 80s and also appears on some of their 12" albums pressed in the UK. You can tell this is a CBS pressing due to the slightly raised rim section around the record label. The reason I have played this ONCE is to confirm that this mark has NO EFFECT on the quality of the album when it is played.
The album sounds fantastic - crank up the bass !!
