Description

This is the Chesky audiopile reissue of RCA Living Stereo LSC-2446, remastered from the original tapes using all vacuum tube equipment and pressed on 180g vinyl. Please see the photo of the back cover for track listings and other information about the recording. I have owned this record from new (bought around the year 2000) and played it a few times in the past but it hasn't been played at all in the last 12 years.

Grade, using the record collector grading scheme (reproduced below): EX/EX

  • The sleeve is clean, shiny and unmarked apart from some slight creasing around the top-right and bottom-right corners.
  • The playing surfaces of the record itself look pristine - no marks at all as far as I can tell.

Please read these grading notes before bidding/buying.

  1. All grades are visual only unless stated otherwise. Since this is inevitably subjective I try to err on the side of caution and grade conservatively. The highest grade I will give to a record I have played is EX+ if I have only played the record a few times and the playing surfaces appear pristine.
  2. Most records have some surface noise and in my experience this is the case even with brand new 'audiophile' pressings played for the first time. Surface noise is usually more noticeable on classical records which often have long quiet passages where the signal-to-noise ratio is lower. I have bought many such records and found that almost all have some background ticks and crackles - you just have to accept that this is part of the vinyl listening experience, especially with classical music. Please take this into account before bidding/buying.

See my other items for a number of other records for sale. Postage discounts are available for multiple orders. If you buy more than one record you will pay the p&p cost for the item with the highest p&p cost plus £1 for each additional record. For auctions, wait until every auction you have bid on has ended before completing checkout, for buy-it-now listings click 'add to basket' for each record you wish to purchase and the discount will be applied automatically at checkout.

I pack records carefully with the record outside the sleeve in a layer of bubble wrap and ship them in a dedicated corrugated cardboard record mailer.

Record Collector grading scheme:

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening  in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration  in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and  tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated,  perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding,  scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable  surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and  contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
