Description

An original summer '73 1st on UK Atlantic. Matrix A1/B1. Please note the labels do not exhibit the Warners logo in the perimeter text, which is all found in the southern half of the label. These are very 1st pressings. Well worth opting for the earliest as they were pressed pre-oil crisis so are still nice and chunky. The vinyl comes housed in a funk gimmick cover with opening piano! We also have the original generic white inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Vg+) In great shape an has only seen reasonably light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of light marks per side - one does just sound momentarily right at the start of the record [detail below]. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with a couple of deviations. When on song - a really sweet clean player, but I did have issue in a couple of spots. One solitary pop in 'Jesse'. There's a small mark at the outset of KILLING ME which causes about 5 ticks before the main song starts up proper. I also detected a one second pulse of interference midway through too. Other than that just a few crackles in one isolated spot per side [e.g. River]. Overall a bit of a banger! Great audio.
Cover (Vg+) I would imagine this original 1st issue cover is a major pain in the arse to find in decent condition. That die-cut piano opening panel is just asking for trouble! But this example is preserved well - somehow they've managed to keep that section from being damaged or heavily worn. Very nice colour retention front and back with just a touch of surface wear down at the lower corners of the front. The internals are looking really well preserved. Only lightest edge wear and firm opening. Spine is pretty much fully intact with all text legible. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing. No splits.
