Rockabilly 45 SHERREE SCOTT "Whole Lotta Shakin” + pic sleeve ROBBINS ’59 NM SUPERB! HEAR
Artist: SHERREE SCOTT and Her MELODY ROCKERS, with The Thompson Sisters
Titles: Whole Lotta Shakin’ / Unhappy Birthday
Label: ROBBINS (San Fernando, California) ~ # ROB 101. Labels are glossy royal blue with silver text.
The letter “H” is machine stamped in the runout groove, so I am assuming this means it was custom pressed at the RCA Victor Hollywood, CA plant.
Year: 1959
Condition:
Vinyl: Vinyl is solid NEAR MINT in every way. Has been carefully stored all these years under proper condition, and has likely never been on a turntable. Labels are clean and pristine. This is as good as it gets, a solid “10” out of 10!
Picture sleeve: Condition of sleeve is nice VG+ with a few issues typically found on vintage sleeves that have been handled, such as minor crinkling to reflect the shape of the record, a slight tear at the top due to removal and insertion of the record, and small bends at the corners. None of these are especially serious, and overall the sleeve is a decent example especially given the superb condition of the wax.
A truly rare female rockabilly gem, with solid backing by the MELODY ROCKERS – belongs in any serious collection.. Give it a listen and see if you don’t agree!
