Description
Rockabilly Original 1958 Junior Dean and the Avalons: Chick Chick and Surrender. This is the second and last original copy that I have to sell. Surgery dictates that I must, and I am keeping the scratchy copy I was allowed to play as a child. This original 1958 pressing offered has been played less than four times on either side. It has a few indirect scuff marks from corrugated packaging around it that does not effect play quality. My father, T.A. Barber was the drummer and lead singer of his band, the Avalons; and he was a forerunner of Rockabilly in North Carolina since 1953, playing a statewide circuit of Military and dance clubs. Junior Dean, also a local artist, sought my father and his band to back him on this one-time studio recording. I am also including an original promotional photo of T.A. Barber and the Avalons taken in a photography studio stamped on the back from the same Spring Hope, NC city as the Mike Records studio. Also included is a personal photo of my dad and the band with their van as well as a playbill from an NCO club they were included in. No photos include Junior Dean, and there are no know photos of all of them together.
