Description

Gasoline Alley 1st press on the UK Vertigo label. Matrix 1Y/1 & 2Y/1. Please note the record labels use the larger vertigo logo with the 'Vertigo' text positioned at the foot of the label. This pressing dates from 1970 - the time of release. Later copies exhibit a smaller logo and these would have been issued from 1971 onwards. Also this label does not have any song writing or publishing credits - once again indicating it is one of the very first copies issued. The LP comes housed in an original textured gatefold cover printed by Howards Printers Slough. Also included is the early 70's Vertigo swirl inner sleeve. 
Cover (Ex) Remains in fantastic condition and has clearly been looked after. There's very little ageing apparent and only some light edge wear. Please note the cover has been initialed twice in the top left corner [visible] and then a second one to the left of 'Gasoline' which is practically invisible. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and the interior is pretty much in perfect condition. The spine is 100% intact too. 
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) Looks shiny like new and has clearly only seen light use. Under close visual inspection I can only make out a couple of ultra light marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity and very little interference. There are a couple of tracks with a touch of light static in [e.g. country comforts], but that really was all I could detect. A very nice rendition of this original album and the Vertigo pressing more than does it justice.
Inner (Vg) No splits, but it has aged.
