I can not emphasise enough the rarity of finding Rolling Stones albums in this condition.
The audio is absoluteluy stunning! Played and listened to very carefully at loud volume on a top system.

I know myself that this 43 year old Rolling Stones vinyl has not been played at all for approximately 40 years owing to the passing away of the original owner (it has been in my possession ever since).

Also this is one of the very earliest pressings of this record.

The mother stampers '1' 'CH' for side 1, this would have been one of the earliest to have been pressed from this master!


Album Information

Aftermath is the fourth UK and sixth US studio album by The Rolling Stones and was released in 1966.

The album proved to be a major artistic breakthrough for The Rolling Stones in that it was the first full-length release by the band to exclusively feature Mick Jagger/Keith Richards compositions.

The album is also notable for its musical experimentation, with Brian Jones - possibly inspired by George Harrisons use of sitar on The Beatles' Rubber Soul - playing a variety of instruments which feature prominently in each track, including the sitar on "Paint It Black", and the dulcimer on "Lady Jane" and "I Am Waiting".

Once again, two editions of the album were released. The first release of Aftermath appeared in April of 1966 as a fourteen-track long-player, and is considered by many to be the definitive version. Issued between the non-LP single releases of "19th Nervous Breakdown" and "Paint It, Black", Aftermath proved a big smash, spending eight weeks atop the UK charts.

In the US however, fourteen tracks was considered too many. With a substituted cover art, the American edition of Aftermath, released that June, features a subtly re-shuffled running order that eliminates "Out Of Time", "Take It Or Leave It" and "What To Do" (all later released in the US), while replacing "Mother's Little Helper" with current #1 hit "Paint It, Black". Despite compromising producer Andrew Loog Oldham's and The Rolling Stones' intentions for the album, the revamped Aftermath shot to #2 in the US, eventually going platinum. In 2002, the US edition of Aftermath was ranked number 108

The vinyl upon initial visual inspection i can hardly see a blemish this looks almost like new. This lays perfectly flat on the turntable.

This is the original thicker and deeper grooved type of vinyl only found on original early pressings later pressings were much more flimsy and less robust. In very strong light any marks that could be seen would have been caused by the vinyl being slid in and out of its record sleeve. Very very few inobtrusive light suface scuffs/scratches. This retains its super glossy appearance from new and looks awesome!

I have played this vinyl once and very carefully listened track for track on a top system. The audio is absolutely awesome, crystal clear and vibrant all of the way through.

This is so rare to find like this and in this condition.

There are no loud clicks pops, certainly no jumps or skips or any signs of grooveware or that this vinyl has been overplayed at all, possibly only the lightest of static type crackle\ticks as previously described not consistant throughout the audio!

Remember this is an original not a reissue that is 43 years old and would have been played on a system of at least the same age, it has certainly not been played for around 40 years (besides my own personal inspection prior to advertising on eBAY)!

The Labels, These are the original ''unboxed'' DECCA labels with the familier groove! In absolutely superb condition near perfect with no nasty names written on them and very minimal signs of any spidering can only be seen in strong light! This has obviously barely ever been played at all!

No spindle wear, the hole is perfectly round.

THE K.T. TAX CODE IS STAMPED ON THE RUN OFF GROOVES (ONLY 1ST PRESS)

The record Sleeve. This is the original poly lined sleeve with no splits or tears, just light general browning with age and light creasings but overall in super condition and original!

The front cover Printed by Robert Stace is unbelievably rare to find these originals in this condition!

The back cover does however have the previous owner's name written in ink on one side (pictured), this however does not obtrude any of the artwork, there is also the number 32/2 in a circle (possibly added by the original record shop). The spine is in good condition, however the T from the word STONES appears to have worn away (also pictured).

I have tried to take as many photos as possible using my mobile phone as I don't own a 'proper' digital camera, if you require further images then please contact me with your email address and a description of the images you'd require. Admittedly the record would benefit from a wipe with a dedicated vinyl record cleaner, I do not own one of these myself and did not want to compromise the record in any way by cleaning it with anything else.

In my opinion this very rare and sought after album will be hard to surpass and being the rarest in (mono) makes this album even more desirable!
