Description
For auction here, is a copy of the great 1966 album from the Rolling Stones, "Aftermath".
It has 14 tracks, as follows:
Side One: Mother's Little Helper, Stupid Girl, Lady Jane, Under my Thumb, Doncha Bother Me, Goin' Home
Side Two: Flight 505, High and Dry, Out of Time, It's not Easy, I am Waiting, Take it or leave It, Think, What to Do.
This is an original mono pressing on the red Decca FFRR label. Catalogue Number, LK 4756 & XARL 7209 / 7210. Stamped into side one of the disc is XARL 7209-1B and into side two is XARL 7210-6A.
I am not a record dealer, so I won't use their grading system, instead I'll describe the condition and draw your attention to the photos!
Sleeve: Front is pretty clean with a few lightish creases. No writing or tears or major disfigurement. Back is in slightly grubby condition, and a little yellowed, but again, is free from writing, tears or other major problems. The spine is untorn.
Record: There are visible light surface scratches on both sides. There is a small, approximately 1cm scratch on side 1 which is deeper. It's visible on the third photo and is on parts of tracks 3 and 4. Labels are okay, with some spindle marks but no other damage.
I have cleaned the record on my Moth cleaning machine and played it through on my Lenco turntable (with Audio Technica cartridge). There is some light surface noise, which is only really noticeable between tracks. The scratch on side 1 is audible but doesn't detract too much from the enjoyment of the music. No skips or sticks were noticed.
This would be perfect as a decent "Playing Copy" if you have a mint one you don't wish to play too often, or it would sound fantastic on a vintage record player such as a Dansette!
