Vinyl: Good, but no higher Visually the vinyl shows a lot of marks on both sides, including scuffs and scratches. It's very clear that this LP was quite loved back in it's day, which really shows in the audio playback. Play tested on my transcription deck, somehow it still plays through from beginning to end without ever jumping or skipping anywhere but there is a lot of audible surface noise as it's played through and there are clicks, ticks and pops from the marks. It's a very fragile cutting due to how compressed it is to fit nearly an hour's worth of music and it really shows with this one. It's not an ideal listen and definitely not for anyone picky but for those who don't mind surface noise or are looking for a collection filler, this one is still playable in that regard. Play-graded in stereo with headphones, however summing to mono will help to improve on the surface noise.
Cover: Very Good The rare text shadow cover has held up a lot better than the record itself, which is quite lucky. It looks nice on the front panel but with some signs of wear. It has some spots of laminate wear, creasing and corner dinking plus some light signs of wear to the openings. The biggest thing that lets this cover down is a spot on the front panel at the top left where the laminate has been pierced. The spine text is luckily still present and fully legible. The back panel still looks decent without any major yellowing / discolouration but it does have some spots of dirt which may be able to be cleaned off. One thing to note is that the glue on the very edge of the top seam has dried up a little bit, so please take care when handling the cover as not to agitate it. The list of demerits does seem rather long but I'm trying to be very transparent; this cover is still in a nice shape for it's age and you might not find a better one without shelling out thousands for it.
Overall this album has clearly seen better days but it could still be a nice collectors piece or a starter copy for anyone looking to own the original. Please be aware of how worn the record is.
Unfortunately there was no original inner sleeve present but the record will come with a blank paper sleeve that's holding up very well.
