Description

Absolutely original Stones 'BEGGARS BANQUET' STEREO LP.

Opportunities like this one don't come along very often so please don't miss out and end up disappointed.

This album has been in my family since new and is not a bought in to be sold on.

Take a look at:

  • SKL 4955
  • Original 1968 edition
  • Unboxed DECCA logo
  • ZXAL 3476/3477
  • Matrix code 1K/1K
  • J/T stamping
  • Stamped 1 in the 9 o'clock position with what looks like U 11 in the 3 o'clock position on side 1
  • Stamped 1 in the 9 o'clock position with C C in the 3 o'clock position on side 2 with a further stamping of what looks like 7 and an X on top in the 6 o'clock position
  • Original Garrod & Lofthouse laminated gatefold sleeve with the wording SLEEVE PRINTED BY GARROD & LOFTHOUSE INTERNATIONAL LIMITED. PATENTS PENDING (this particular wording appeared on only the very first issues).
The following gradings are my own opinion but I have had the LP independently assessed by a local record collectors store:
  • Vinyl - side 1 - a couple of surface markings which I am told do not affect the sound quality. The vinyl is exceptionally clear and bright and heavy in nature.
  • Vinyl - side 2 - exceptionally clear and bright with no noticeable surface marks.
  • Sound quality - very good with no obvious pops or crackles.
  • Labels - very slight spindle marks which are not obvious - the spindle hole on both sides is perfect.
  • Inner sleeve - original blue and white sleeve with clear and crisp writing - no rips holes or tears. The original cellophane lining is still in place with no rips holes or tears.
  • Outer sleeve - clean and bright with clear writing - no pen marks or writing. First issue gatefold sleeve. Laminate has split slightly at the bottom of the spine and there is slight feathering on the opening on the bottom right corner. The sleeve has aged very gracefully over its 43 years and shows only very slight creasing (wish I could say the same about me).
A superb example of what is surely one The Stones classics.

HAPPY BIDDING - YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.
