Description

The Rolling Stones - Exile On Main St. ( 1972 UK Rolling Stones Records original very first pressing. 100% complete. Inners, outers, postcards. COC 69100 ). Fantastic promotional copy of what is now generally regarded as their finest work. Very first pressing with the single ply gatefold flap and both discs inserting into the INSIDE right hand opening. ( only with original first pressings ). Incredibly all 12 postcards are included ( separated ). And of course the custom inner covers ( heavy duty card , again only found on first pressings ). Box style cover is solid and intact. Bit of bottom edge rubbing and some natural browning round the perimeters. Very mild though, no rips , tears , tape or writing. Definite keeper. NEAR EX. Correct original diagonally/die cut paper inners. Heavy card custom album sleeves are both stunningly clean and sharp. EX PLUS. Heavy gauge discs have matrices : A2/B2/C1/D2. ( very very early ). Iconic bright yellow/red labels have " Promotional Copy-Not For Sale " stickers on Side1/Side3. Discs lie flat and true on the platter, absolutely sensational audio playback from original first generation master tape. ( you CAN hear the difference ). Some very light hairlines from sleeve removal but nothing deep or intrusive at all. Playing surfaces still shine. Would be difficult to find nicer originals for sure. All 12 postcards included ( very rarely happens because they were actual postcards and fans invariably sent them to people!). Cards made in USA. NEAR MINT. Discs are a strong EX. All in all a lovely keeper of an increasingly hard to find package 100% complete. I.l put it out at set sale, first come first served . . .
