This is a phenomenal aural delivery. THE best I have heard from this Stones monster classic. Tones are very sharp and concise. The loud cut delivery projects magnificently, to convey a wonderful array of tones and the bass frequency is so vibrant, it is unbelievable! Instrumentation is a delight, with the percussion beat delivered with exquisite, mellow tones, especially on Shine A Light ! With only approximately 3-4 plays, an exceptional audio with very little to fault. Mostly clear channels and will find very difficult to match . These virginal grooves have been undisturbed for years and plays as if fresh off the press! Remarkable and extremely scarce in this awesome condition.

Vinyls

Hardly a blemish on vinyl surfaces .Virtually unmarked, when examining against a strong light . Mirror like appearance and a pleasure to view! Excellent+/nr mint visual .Only blemish ,if angled 45 degrees, is a visible scuff, extending across the D side, but is cosmetic only, not audible, and disappears beneath the vinyl’s  stunning glaze. Possibly caused through sleeve removal. 

What a sensational album release !

Plain,  white inner sleeves . EXCELLENT-  condition-just one nick on central edge.

Complete 12 set of post cards – concertina format nr MINT condition

Gatefold sleeve EXCELLENT +

1st issue, gatefold sleeve, where records are pulled out from inner compartment. Shorewood Packaging manufacture with that extra thick card .Later issues were not so robust and were thinner, as flimsier card was used .Nothing major to fault, save for a light corner scuff/light knock, on internal, top edge of spinal column only. Small, blue ,circular sticker on top right corner.

 Stored away from any sunlight, making the faces on exterior appear almost white, with very minor yellowing,  if any, through the course of time.  Hardly any edge wear visible . Very difficult to locate a 1st issue sleeve in this remarkable format and  makes this a highly collectable gatefold sleeve with little to fault.

Inner picture sleeves- Excellent/Nr MINT . No seam splits. No rips. No tears at all. Fresh feel.

Vinyl matrices

Very rare to find as most 1st UK pressings have the double matrix with Rolling Stones Records etched in to every run off. All three sides have this genuine endorsement except for the D side which does not have Rolling Stones Records nor the second matrix etched into the run off groove. The D side only has matrix D3 etched on the run off ,with the inverted V (which is always found 1st pressings)! So a little twist here to delight Stones collectors, as this must indeed be a rare matrix error. Not even aligned in numerical sequence, considering the other matrices end with -1 !would expect a 2 but not a three!

Becoming harder to locate in this complete format,  and in stunning condition. Certainly one for the keen vinyl enthusiast ,especially with that unique matrix error! With a nr mint aural delivery and highly polished vinyls , an absolute gem of an example. Exile On Main Street is now considered widely among the Band’s finest work and is noted to be one of the defining masterpieces of the rock era !
