Description

The Rolling Stones Exile on Main Street Mint unplayed UK original with earliest Matrixes A1 B2 C1 D1. Archive Copy!

Up for auction is this stunning unplayed collectors item! 1972 Earliest 1st press original with the earliest 1st press matrixes I have ever seen or heard of. Research on auctions sites and the internet still have not come up with a A1 B1 C1 D1 pressing, so as far as I can tell this is the earliest and best condition copy that has ever surfaced for auction.

I purchased this LP along with about 100 other mint and unplayed records from a gentleman in Liverpool who informed me that other than his Beatles collection, the LPs I purchased from him have never been played or seen the light of day. A true indication of this was when I got this particular LP home and took it out of the inner sleeve it still had the original sleeve shavings on the LP surface!! Truly a one off find!!!

This copy comes complete with the original red and green thick cardboard inner sleeves, the original correct coded white inner sleeves ( Patent No. 1.125.555. ) and the 12 postcards fully connected and in stunning mint condition!!

Label, pressing and matrix information are as follows:

SIDE ONE LABEL: COC 69100-A,  Musidor, N.V. DEAD WAX STAMPED: COC 69100 A1, DEAD WAX HAND ETCHED: Rolling Stones Records  ST-RS-7225 07,  Inverted triangle inside circle stamped at 8 o’clock.

SIDE TWO LABEL: COC 69100-B,  Musidor, N.V. DEAD WAX STAMPED: COC 69100 B2, DEAD WAX HAND ETCHED: Rolling Stones Records  ST-RS-7225 08,  Inverted triangle inside circle stamped at  1 o’clock.

SIDE THREE LABEL: COC 69100-C,  Musidor, N.V. DEAD WAX STAMPED: COC 69100 C1, DEAD WAX HAND ETCHED: Rolling Stones Records  ST-RS-7225 09,  Inverted triangle inside circle stamped at  6 o’clock.

SIDE FOUR LABEL: COC 69100-D,  Musidor, N.V. DEAD WAX STAMPED: COC 69100 D1, DEAD WAX HAND ETCHED: Rolling Stones Records  ST-RS-7225 10,  Inverted triangle inside circle stamped at  10 o’clock.

OUTER COVER CONDITION: NM-   Shorewood Unipack cover is in stunning near new condition. Only flaw to the overall condition to the sleeve is some brown spotting on the front and rear, due to long time storage. ( As the photos show, these are only minimal at worst and do not detract from the overall condition and presentation of the sleeve.

No writing, no ring wear, no creases, no stickers, no other faults or concerns to speak of.

The sleeve has had no compression and sits proud with a thick and clear spine, just like it has come straight from the record shop in 1972. 9.5 / 10.

RECORD 1: 100% Perfect!! No defects to speak of. Until I cleaned of the sleeve cuttings I don’t think this record was ever taken out of its sleeve! Flawless! 10 / 10.

RECORD 2: Same as record 1. 100% Perfect!! No defects to speak of. Until I cleaned of the sleeve cuttings I don’t think this record was ever taken out of its sleeve! Flawless! 10 / 10.

( I am always hesitant to use the grading MINT but this is the closest original example I have ever seen which can go close to that grading. )

RED AND GREEN INNER SLEEVES: Flawless! 100% Perfect and in Mint condition! Thick cardboard. No creases marks or any other flaw to speak of. 10 / 10

12 POSTCARDS:  100% Perfect Mint condition. Would say they probably have never been out of the sleeve until I took them out to photo.10 / 10.

I have not played the LP as I want the individual who purchases this to be the 1st person to play this rarity!!!! I will offer a no questions asked full money back refund if the LP plays with any issues.

Any questions or any more photos required please ask.

Overall probably the best and finest example of the earliest matrix pressing of this classic that you may ever see!! A true collectors piece, which in this condition will only go up in value!
