The Rolling Stones 'GET YOUR ROCKS OFF' (LA Forum. June 1972) Mushroom Records (TMOQ) 2LP. 2806. Coloured Vinyl.
Offered for auction; a beautiful copy of the original 2LP set 'Get Your Rocks Off'.  This is lovely. Another mint condition 1st gen.1970s gem from my collection. Clinton Heylin, in his fine book 'Bootleg' explains how, to cover their tracks, bootleg companies would release their albums with slightly differing insert information and record labels. What we have here is exactly that. The TMOQ double album 'Get Your Rocks Off' matrix numbers: 2806A/2806BX/2806C/2806D with Ruthless Rhymes record labels (almost as famous as the iconic pig they more often used) and an insert label identity 'Mushroom Records'.  Don't be fooled, this is the TMOQ guys using TMOQ ORIGINAL STAMPERS. Those in the know got the joke straight away. The 'Mushroom Records' logo used is William Stout's art for the track 'It's All Over Now' which he produced for the cover of 'Winter Tour 1973'. In all other respects the TMOQ cover insert remains the same. Better still, to the insert has been added the rubber stamped message 'COLLECTOR'S EDITION. COLORED VINYL'. The condition of this set is wonderful. The Sleeve and insert are perfect. Shrinkwrap is intact. The discs, one gold vinyl, one multi coloured purple vinyl, are mint (see the photos).  A classic. You won't find it better anywhere.
