THE ROLLING STONES - 'HOT ROCKS 1964-1971'

This U.S. mispressing of their 1971 double compilation album includes alternate versions of 'Brown Sugar' & 'Wild Horses'

'Brown Sugar' has a completely different backing track which amongst other things omits Bobby Key's sax solo and omits the lead guitar solo. The vocal take seems to be as the released version

'Wild Horses' is slightly shorter but the main difference is that Mick's vocal track is completely different to the released version


Both discs are on the blue/silver London label: 2PS 606/7

Disc 1 matrix numbers: XZAL 11015 & XZAL 11016

'SHELLY' & the date '11.18.71' is hand-etched into each respective run-out & 'STERLING' is machine stamped in both

Vinyl weight: 118g

Disc 2 matrix numbers: XZAL 11017 & XZAL 11018

'SHELLY' & 'SHELLY - 11.18.71' is hand-etched into each respective run-out and 'STERLING' is again machine stamped in both

Vinyl weight: 125g

Housed within a slick-on-posterboard gatefold cover, with the a 'Promotional Copy - Not For Sale' sticker on the front panel

This copy also comes with a fold-out leaflet entitled '211 reasons why The Rolling Stones is the world's greatest rock and roll band'

Complete with original full-colour inners advertising other London albums

Labels: EXCELLENT +

All are clean and free from any stickers or writing, with just a little wear around the hole on label 3

Visual: Disc 1: VERY GOOD Disc 2: VERY GOOD -

Both discs are clean but have received quite a few plays and displays several light marks & hairlines consistent with this. Disc 2 bears slightly more surface wear than disc 1, but there is nothing deep or feelable on either disc

Sound Quality: Disc 1: VERY GOOD + Disc 2: GOOD

Disc 1 plays well and is free from any significant deterioration to the sound quality. Disc 2 appears to have been played more and there is noticeable background in the quieter passages and intermittent groovewear. This is audible most clearly on 'You Can't Always Get What You Want' and 'Wild Horses'. However, there are no heavy clicks, jumps, repeats or any other major distractions anywhere

Cover: VERY GOOD +

Clean & strong with moerate shelf/storagwear & some corner bruising

All seams are fully intact and the spine is readable

Inner-sleeves: EXCELLENT

Clean & flat with small lower seam splits to both

Leaflet: MINT
