Stereo recording ! Reputed to be THE VERY earliest BOXED release, with the very first BOXED stereo label format! Earliest GLOSSY poster, as later issues were matt finish!!!Audio is in the stereo perspective, and has a massive range of dynamic sound, compared to the mono releases! A beautiful high gloss visual  to the thick cut pressing! Complete with original CENSORED blue/white, Decca inner sleeve, and a beautifully, laminated  album cover!  Would stand proud in any serious ,vinyl collection.

SKL 5025,  boxed , originally released December 5th, 1969.This record is one of the very first stereo boxed Decca pressings to be released between late 1969-early 1970.A very few were released at this time, with the very first boxed label format. The labels  are very similar to the unboxed mono labels, with the publishing year on the left hand side,  and the Ariel Font style ONLY found on this 1969 BOXED stereo release (and the 1st mono unboxed pressings, now so rare to locate). Hardly any were released with this label format, as it was based on the mono labels, which had to be deleted at that time, due to the launch of the stereo initiation.

It is believed that there were four different versions of Let it Bleed in the shops during December 1969 and all were considered to be first pressed, original pressings of this awesome Stones classic .i.e. unboxed red mono /boxed red mono/blue unboxed/blue boxed Decca, label formats. This particular release is believed to fall into the category of THE earliest  pressed , of the boxed Decca stereo pressings of Let It Bleed .

The criteria for a first issue boxed Decca is as follows:

-Album cover has “Sleeve printed in England” text on lower right of reverse face with peephole top right, to determine if mono/stereo release

-A sticker was placed on front face of album cover, to indicate that a poster was enclosed with this record . Therefore, this is the original album sleeve of December 1969 but without the sticker which has been removed.

-Poster was included with all 1st issue releases .They are usually found glossy but are very rare to locate. This has the very first GLOSSY poster, with  a thicker paper manufacture, and is the one found with this LP. Poster reissues  are normally found with a matt finish and later ones were paper thin .

-censored blue/white lyric inner sleeve with a black block across London Bach Choir credit. A fantastic exhibit including the censored sleeve, as they did not wish to be affiliated with this album as they took offence to the LIB format .Difficult to locate now!

-Late 1969/1970  dark navy blue label format, very similar and based on the format of the mono unboxed 1st pressed label format. The earliest Boxed stereo variant MUST have the publishing text on the left hand side and the Ariel font.

Many different variations to this label e.g. Later 1970 issues did not have the speed 331/3 text on any of the labels .It was omitted! This one is THE earliest format of the boxed logo release and is so difficult to locate, as the number issued was extremely low . The early 1970 labels had the speed inscription but this one is even earlier, without a speed text.

Hence from the information above, we can assume that this particular boxed Let it bleed release, is the earliest late 1969/1970  original ,confirmed also by the 1- mother, located at 9 o’clock on one side of the run off of the vinyl. This exhibit is an exceptional collector’s item.

Single, laminated sleeve in excellent condition . High gloss from the thick laminate coat on front face. No lifting of the laminate. No creasing visible, if angled against a strong light. Ultra clean example, with no rips/nor tears. Has peep hole on reverse and is  unstickered , and removed by the original owner. Lovely clean reverse with Made in England text .Spinal column is tapered at each end and in excellent+ condition.

 The Stones’ poster is also present.  MINT- condition, with a thicker paper manufacture and a glorious gloss which confirms that this poster has not seen the light of day until now, for a  visual inspection. Rare example of this must have piece of historic memorabilia .

Labels

Boxed, navy blue ,Decca label format in MINT- condition. This record has minimal evidence of a playing history and there is only  two faint spindle lines visible, against a perfect spindle hole. No mottling, nor peeling. No spindle wear at all. No rips, nor tears ! MINT-  examples of this earliest boxed, stereo variant . Incredible examples, of such a rare label format.

Vinyl

Etched in run off is the incredibly rare JT tax code, which confirms that this is indeed, a very early pressing. One will not find many with this rarity on the vinyl !

Has an incredible, mirror like sheen, with the surfaces maintaining its original deep gloss .Thick cut, heavy weight feel and a pleasure to view. If angled against a strong light, there is the odd, faint, surface mark/pin prick scratch ,hardly noticeable   . Sensational visual, as the solitary sleeve removal marks,  disappear  beneath its staggering sheen! Excellent sheen !

Blue inner lyrics sleeve in ex+ condition.  Mega rare censored   format. Some light creasing visible only. A fine exhibit. No seam splits, no rips, nor tears! Becoming rare with the censored text .

No distortion, with a sharp tonal execution . Some surface static/disturbance during the opening grooves/between tracks and during the quieter parts of the music, where there is dust accumulated in these wide grooves. There appears to be dust lifting from the grooves, as the vinyl has lain dormant for many years. Delivery will get even better , the more it is played ! No serious problems at all . Appears to be only played 3-4 times?

Recordings , with very pleasing aural deliveries, are becoming more and more difficult to locate against this album release.  The stereophonic perspective conveys a delightful audio, quite different from its mono counterpart, delivering a dynamic range of sound and a much more elaborate imagery from its bass channels.

A remarkable example of the Rolling Stones best-selling, album release, considered to be one of the first originals of December 1969/early 1970, complete as it was, all those years ago.
