Description
You are bidding on a 12” vinyl LP of The Rolling Stones album - No Stone Unturned. From looking at other listings on eBay this is a RARE item. It appears to be a French pressing. It is in great condition, so please read on for full details.
This is from my own personal collection. It’s time to make some space so sadly I am selling my vinyl collection. Please check out my other items for sale and there are many more to follow, so keep checking back.
Tracks:
Side 1 – Poison Ivy : The Singer Not The Song : Surprise Surprise : Child Of The Moon : Stoned : Sad Day
Side 2 - Money : Congratulations : I'm Moving On : 2120 South Michigan Avenue : Long Long While Who's Driving Your Plane.
I am not a record dealer and I am not an expert at grading records. I will give as much information as possible to assist in identifying particular albums and an honest opinion as to condition.
For the vinyl collectors looking in, the following information is available:
Label: Decca (Blue with silver writing. Track listing is in English, but some of the text on the album is in French. The Decca logo is in a box. You know an album is old when it says "Full Frequency Stereophonic Sound". As opposed to Side A and Side B it says "Face A" and "Face B"
"Made in France by Societe Francais Du Son". is written on the label.
Year: I don't know what year this was pressed, but recordings appear to be from 1963 -1968. (compilation?)
Catalogue No: On the label it says 211.028 B (in brackets underneath it says SKL 5.173 and above, it says XEAL 12.555.
Additional Matrix number information: Side A - XZAL 12555 A followed by JSI Side B - XZAL 12556 and JSI
Stereo.
Condition: EXC.
Record: Both labels are clean. Vinyl has a few light finger marks. I can't see any scuff or scratch marks at all. I have played the whole album through. It plays really well. I can't find anything wrong with it. Very clean sound, no jumps, skips or sticking. I didn't hear any surface noise or clicks anywhere.
Cover: Single sleeve. Looks like a laminated cover. Again, I can't find anything wrong with it. All four corners are good. No sign of shelf wear on top or bottom edge. Being ultra critical, there is very minor lifting of laminate near spine. and a small crease mark less than 1cm. They are really non-obtrusive and this really is nit-picking. All text on spine is clear and readable.
Inner sleeve: Plain white paper lined with thin polythene. Just a hint of age discolouration. All intact
Extras: There is an insert with this album. Glossy paper. B&W photos of covers of the Rolling Stones fanzine book issues 1-30. The reverse has some French text and B&W photos of The Stones.
Compared with how others grade LP’s on eBay I would say this is easily EXC, maybe EXC+ and I believe some may even grade as Near Mint.
This is a great opportunity to own this rare album in exceptionally good condition.
A very helpful person on eBay, who obviously knows more about these things than I, has sent a message giving more information about this album. I am grateful for the advice,
Hi, I thought you might like some additional info. about this album.
It originally came out in the UK in late 1973. UK catalogue no. SKL 5173.
It is notable for having the first stereo mix of 'Child Of The Moon'
It is a compilation of Stones B-Sides and EP Tracks dating from 1963-1968. and is one of the better Decca compilations from the early '70's.
Yours appears to be a French pressing which probably dates from the late '70's.
**The UK edition did not contain any insert.
The Rolling Stones Monthly that is being advertised on the insert ceased publication in November 1966 after 30 editions
I guess Decca were just trying to emphasis the 1960's content of the album.
Hope this helps.
If you would like any further information regarding this item, please feel free to ask and I will do my best to answer your questions.
Describing the condition of items is very subjective.(one man’s treasure is another man’s junk etc). I will always try to be as honest as possible in describing the items. I would rather be honest from the outset, than end up with a disappointed winning bidder. I buy things on eBay as well and would expect the same honesty from others.
There is no reserve on this item.
Items will be dispatched by Royal Mail First Class post. I will obtain a receipt for postage, but cannot accept responsibility for items not delivered. I understand “standard” first class mail is insured for items up to a value of £20.00. If you would prefer items insured for more, tracked, special delivery, recorded and “signed for” delivery, please contact me prior to paying.
If my starting bid is over £20.00 I will include a postage price that will cover for "Signed For" postage (this insures for up to £50) and if the starting bid or final bid is over £50 I will sendvia Special Delivery which I believe insuresfor up to £500.00.
All albums are dispatched in sturdy cardboard mailerswith additional stiffeners, to ensure safe arrival. The cost of this packaging isincluded in the postage price.
Winning bidders must pay within three days of end of auction or the item will be relisted and negative feedback left.
Instant PayPal payments only please. I do not accept cheques in any form (including eCheques)
International bidders MUST please contact me prior to bidding for postage costs. I will only ship to Europe and Worldwide via International “signed for” airmail and this can be a costly business.
