Description
THE ROLLING STONES - 'THE ROLLING STONES No.2'
This UK 1st pressing of their 2nd album dates from 1965 on the deep-groove, unboxed red Decca label: LK.4661
Matrix numbers: XARL 6619-2A & XARL 6620-2A
Stamper codes: 1/CB & 3B/UH
Vinyl weight: 143g
The disc is housed within a front laminated cover 'Printed in England' with paste-over rear panel, which is explained below.....
Initial covers included a rear panel text in which the following text was included and deemed offensive:
....'If you don’t have the bread, see that blind man knock him on the head, steel his wallet and low and behold you have loot, if you put in the boot, good, another one sold!.....'
As Decca held a large stock of covers already printed when the decision to change this 'blind man' text was taken and instead of destroying existing covers, they printed a revised rear slick with a revised/censored text and glued it on top of the original back cover. The original back cover is just visible beneath the pasted-over paper sheet.

Labels: NEAR MINT
A perfectly clean & unworn set with just a few barely visible spindle trails around each totally unworn centre hole.
Visual: EXCELLENT +
Pristine deep-gloss playing surfaces which apart from a few harmless faint marks consistent with inner-sleeve removal are unmarked in strong daylight. Closer examination does little more than highlight these harmless blemishes, adding only a sparkling rainbow shine.
Sound Quality: NEAR MINT
This exceptional sounding copy has been barely played and the sound quality throughout is clean, clear & unworn. In fact, apart from a touch of low-level vinyl background between tracks, there is little to fault on this well looked-after disc.
Cover: EXCELLENT +
A superb example of this variant which retains a perfectly clean unscratched & unworn high-gloss front laminate with just a little laminate lifting along the spine, but no 'thumbnails' or even a single spine bend. All corners are in great shape and free from any heavy bumps or bruising and both opening edges are unworn. The exposed rear panel is pristine white and totally unblemished.
Both seams are unsplit and the spine is unworn & fully worded.
Inner-sleeve: EXCELLENT
