Description

An original 1st mono press on UK Decca. Matrix 8/11. Stamps 1A/1BI - a nice early in sequence copy. Comes housed in a genuine mono pinched spine cover printed by Robert Stace. So this is the genuine 1st cover not a switch. This 1st press is very difficult to find in decent condition. Note the Decca deep groove. The Decca inner is present too. So, we're 100% genuine and 100% complete. For those of you into trivia...note the Marvin Gaye credit for track 3. And the Nanker Phelge credit - their code name for the Stones as a collective! This is the last Stones album you find it on. We also have a mid-sixties Decca inner too.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) Lovely condition and has only seen lightest use - really hard to find on stones genuine '65. Take a close look at those spindle holes. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of lightest markings per side - nothing heavy or problematic. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback with a couple of minor deviations per side. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Plays clean and for genuine '65 impressively so. You might detect a few brief crackles in one isolated spot per side. A couple of ticks in one isolated spot per side. But overall clean mono delivery that will better 90% of original copies. Highly recommended.
Cover (Vg+) A real pain to find in decent condition - but this example is looking dapper. The front is tidy but there's a bit of frosting apparent on the left side and slightly more on the right side. Thankfully it seems to have mostly avoided the image of the Stones themselves. The rear is very tidy -  rarely do you see originals having avoided so much of the ageing process. Minimal edge wear. Spine is 99% intact. The cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Sight ageing. Bag present. No split.
