Probably the sexiest album sleeve ever produced apart from Hendrix’ Electric Ladyland. The pun on sticky fingers was considered outrageous and caused much outcry when released. The crotch photograph on front face was shocking in that era of production but caused a huge increase in the records sales world wide and is probably one of the Stones greatest selling discs. The media are still trying to find out whose crotch it was..still debatable to this day…. The entire album was permeated by images of sex and death, yet the tone of the work was neither self-indulgent nor maudlin. The group's playful fascination with sex was further demonstrated on the elaborately designed Andy Warhol sleeve which featured a waist-view shot of a figure clad in denim, with a real zip fastener which opened to display the lips and tongue motif that was shortly to become their corporate image.Very historic album release and very significant to the Rolling Stones’ image and group development.
This is a very scarce pressing of this monumental rock classic. Has the large zipper variant PAN zipper!!! What a rarity this one is…

Most are found heavily marked with groove wear and surface damage. This vinyl is in very good condition. Odd surface mark/light scratch visible .Excellent sheen to the surfaces!
Labels
Excellent. Several spindle lines observed , when examined from different angles. Yellow/red tongue label format. No damage at all.No rips, nor tears and in superb condition.
Audio
Have just upgraded my record deck to a superb Project turntable and this can detect the slightest of surface disturbances .On a high volume, absolutely beautiful tones, conveyed with a mellow warmth and yet with a razor sharp edge. NO pops. No hisses.
During the music, side 1 Track 3, towards the end there are 7 ticks from a light scratch. There is still some dust lifting from the grooves and should improve even more with further play. Side 2 Again the occasional light scratch but no serious problems. No skips, no jumps and no repeats.

The rare large PAN zip is fully functional. There is general wear ,with light corner scuffs. Odd light crease visible, with a moderate one, on belt area. The sleeve was imported from Germany , owing to the high demand for this release, but this large PAN zip caused massive damage to other album sleeves, packed around it , so was immediately discontinued. Very good condition.…
Plain inner sleeve with made in England text. Generally discoloured.4 digit numeric/price hand written on top right corner.VG+ condition with seam split on lower edge.
Tongue poster/insert completes this album presentation. Very good condition. Tiny nick located on top edge but no other damage to report.
A very collectable example, of one of the most famous records, ever to be produced . Great bargain with low starting bid,no reserve!
