Description

The Rolling Stones

First album release

LK4605 MONO

MONA miscredit on BOTH sleeve and record label !! Extremely scarce  ! IMPOSSIBLE to locate !

MEGA RARE Second pressing with first pressed  longer version of Tell Me-4.06 mins- 1964  released. Very special pressing as there is a double mispress on this album. A very limited number with this DOUBLE rarity .Please read on…

Initially, there were huge problems with this album release. The Tell Me shorter version was used in error and then there was a song copy rite problem with the second pressing ,as Mona was miscredited  !! The reverse covers of the album had to be reprinted and record labels had to be reissued. This error was very quickly rectified so only a tiny few were made like this. THIS record is a very scarce pressing indeed as it not only has Mona on record label but ALSO on the album sleeve. And to cap it all, there was another misprint found on the album cover on another of the tracks which had also to be rectified quickly. So this particular issue has ALL three misprints which is very ,very difficult to locate as only a very few were produced in this way .

Matrices XARL-6271-2A   Mother stampers  1  B  /  G  KT

                           -6272-3A                                   1  D  /  D  KT

Labels

Beautiful wide ridge open red Decca format with ffrr ear logo,K/T tax code and inverted matrices. Excellent condition with no damage and only a light spindle trace. Unfaded, rich scarlet beauties with silver text shiny and clear and with the mega rare MONA text !!!! Later issues were changed to read I Need You Baby and are becoming incredibly difficult to locate now and almost impossible to find especially in this superb condition. Very slight spindle wear but rich coloration gives these labels a magnificent appearance.

Sleeve

Trifold flipback single , laminated front, MacNeill Press confirming one of the earliest issues with clipped spine. Ageing discoloration which enhances the quality in many a professional eye , with two of the most famous misprints on reverse of this cover. So hard to locate as there are TWO miscredits!!! Only a very few of these album covers printed until the mistakes were rectified and quite quickly too, so a very small number found like this. Mona is listed and later changed to I need You Baby and You Can Make It You Try-see pics for mispress which on the record label has the “If” which was unfortunately omitted on cover credits. Some creasing on front laminate towards the outer extremities with no laminate lifting !!!  EXCELLENT album sleeve and better than most. NO rips or tears. The front face is sensational with no fading and exemplifies a very rare and fine exhibit indeed.

Vinyl

Some light surface/stylus marks observed but a gorgeous mirror like sheen confirming a relatively lightly played vinyl. Any marks observed are cosmetic only and have no effect on sound whatsoever.

Inner sleeve

Excellent with handling/playing advice .  THE original inner which was issued with this mega rare release.Polylined and in tremendous condition . No rips/tears.

Audio

Absolutely remarkable aural delivery. Have to grade a solid excellent for sure and is one of the best deliveries ever heard from this awesome Stones debut album . The most wonderful feature about these channels, is the lack of distortion and the clarity of the delivery. Tones are conveyed with a pinpoint precision and a razor sharp edge. Fantastic loud cut delivery and the channels operate very clearly with the result of hardly a hiss, pop or crackle .Surface noise is heard mainly between tracks and only , once possibly twice , can one detect the lightest of static during the music  which is heard at a distance and does little to interfere with the musical presentation. Not much to fault and quite amazing to say the least. One of the best deliveries of Carol that I have ever heard. Sensational tones and just wish you could hear a sample of this remarkable record.

Sensational album, so rare to find with the triple misprints on labels/sleeve, where only a very small number were released in this way .And with one of the best audios ever heard from this gigantic pop and beat classic, a mega collectors item on offer here.

Almost impossible to locate now especially in this awesome condition.
