THIS 1972 UK PROMOTIONAL ONLY PRESSING IS THE ONLY TRUE MONO VERSION OF SHINE A LIGHT EVER RELEASED ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD. HAPPY EXISTS AS A USA PROMO 45, WHICH IS MONO, ALTHOUGH THE TIMING OF THE USA ISSUED 45 IS DIFFERENT FROM THIS "RELEASE". 

THIS  IS WITHOUT QUESTION ONE OF THE 2 OR 3 RAREST WORLDWIDE ROLLING STONES 45'S, PERHAPS EVEN SCARCER THAN THE UK POISON IVY OR THE USA STREET FIGHTING MAN PICTURE SLEEVE!

THIS 45 VIRTUALLY NEVER TURNS UP IN THE EXCELLENT CONDITION THIS EXAMPLE IS IN. THE RARITY OF THIS 45 CANNOT BE EXAGGERATED.

See the label pics for relevant TRACK & CATALOG information.  The glued on paper labels have come loose from both sides, see picture 3 for evidence of this.  But they are both included, as shown in pictures 1 & 2.

THIS IS THE WAY THIS RECORD WAS MEANT TO BE HEARD ON RADIO.  SUPERB A++ POWERFUL SOUND.  THE DETAIL EVIDENT IN SHINE A LIGHT IS ASTOUNDING, MICK'S VOCAL IS MUCH MORE PRONOUNCED, THE DRUMS & BASS ARE MUCH MORE FORWARD & PRONOUNCED IN THE MIX, THE GUITAR TONE SEVERE & BITING, IT IS AS IF ONE IS HEARING THESE TRACKS FOR THE FIRST TIME.

A TOTALLY UNIQUE EXPERIENCE OFFERED HERE IN HEARING ONE OF THE GREAT EXILE TRACKS WRIT NEW , VIBRANT & SCINTILLANTLY  FEVERED WITH END OF THE WORLD INTENT.  OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT...  AT ANY RATE, CLASSIC, KLASSIK, KLASSICK, MEGAKILLER, & ULTRA KOOL .

THESE MIXES SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCLUDED IN THE RECENT EXILE REISSUE, THOUGH PERHAPS EVEN THE BAND NO LONGER HAS COPIES OF THESE UNIQUE VERSIONS?  TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE THESE HAVE NEVER BEEN REISSUED, OR EVEN BOOTLEGGED.  THESE ARE  WITHOUT QUESTION TWO OF THE MOST OBSCURE ROLLING STONES STUDIO PERFORMANCES EVER PRESSED TO VINYL.

BOTH SIDES OF THE  DISC ARE IN VERY CONSERVATIVELY GRADED VG++ OR BETTER CONDITION. NO EVIDENT NOR AUDIBLE SCRATCHES, THERE ARE A COUPLE OF LIGHT, NON SOUNDING SURFACE MARKS, LIKELY RESULTING FROM THE DISC HAVING BEEN REMOVED FROM THE SLEEVE AT SOME POINT. 

VIEWED IN NORMAL, INDIRECT HOUSEHOLD  LIGHT THE RECORD APPEARS TO BE MINIMALLY NEAR MINT, IF NOT BETTER. THE DISC FEATURES  BRIGHT, CLEAN & LUSTROUS VINYL, AND AS A LISTEN TO THE ACCOMPANYING SOUND FILES WILL REVEAL THESE TRACKS PLAYS SUPERBLY, WITH ONLY A VERY MINIMAL BIT OF NOISE AT A COUPLE OF POINTS IN SHINE A LIGHT.  THE SUPERBLY DEFINED DETAIL AURALLY EVIDENT ON BOTH TRACKS MUST BE HEARD ON A PROPER HI-FI TO BE FULLY APPRECIATED, THOUGH THE ACCOMPANYING MP3 FILES REVEAL MUCH OF THE CHARACTERISTIC OF  THESE TWO UNIQUE MONO VERSIONS.

This is an incredibly rare advanced test pressing similar to the Rocks Off c/w All Down the Line SAM 3 45. The incredible thing about these 2 records is that they were never released as 45s, because these were advanced test pressings of which probably less than 10 each were made and given to UK radio stations in the spring of 72 to "test play" on the air to get a feel for the way the records would sound on the air. What makes it even better is that all 4 of the tracks (2 on this and 2 on the Rocks Off 45) are in MONO. To my knowledge these are the ONLY place one can get a true Mono of Rocks Off and Shine a Light anywhere in the world. On top of that, all 4 of these tracks are different mixes than available anywhere else! Truly fascinating and MEGA-RARE.

So, there we have it.  Presented here is an opportunity to add an absolute crown jewel to a Rolling Stones vinyl collection.  What is certainly one of the TOP 5 vinyl rarities issued during the  bands near 50 year career.  This may be your only chance to acquire a near mint condition copy of this remarkable artifact.
