Description
Rolling Stones,Their Satanic Majesties Request,LP, Catalogue Number: (TXL 103), Cover Details: Special front laminated gatefold sleeve with a Picture inner sleeve.
Cover Condition: very good condition with some creasing or marks as seen in the pictures or noted.
Record Condition: Has been played a fair amount and clearly shows surface marks which are likely to affect play in some way with background noise in most of the quiet parts & possibly the odd click but should not jump or skip.
Any Other Details: Rare original mono first pressing, on the silver and turquoise grooved record label with unboxed Decca logo. Matrix numbers ARL-8126-1P & ARL-8127-P1. Labels are the fourth version with 'Billy Wyman' much smaller than the Rolling Stones and the side 1 & 2 text on the left of the spindle hole. This is the first true mono pressing, not the T2 pressing which were used on both mono and stereo records. If a mono LP has T2 in the runout then that means the stereo mix was folded down to one channel to make the mono sound. This record has been listened to and on our record player it played without any jumps or sticks. Side one tracks one and two have a few light background crackles, track three has some more noticeable crackles, track four has a few light pops at the start and a few very light crackles, track five has one loud pop at the beginning and the odd very light crackle. Side two track one has crackles for the start and a couple of light pops, track two crackles and has a few pops, track three has some crackles and one pop, track four has some light pops and track five has one pop. None of this over powers the music. The early sleeve has the spine print running from bottom to top, the front has the 3D picture, this is undamaged and feels smoother to the touch than most do. There is a crease to the top left corner, it has caused some of the laminate to flake and bubble, there is a small piece missing, the spine has laminate missing from the top, this relates to the crease, the bottom of the spine is rubbed. The back is fine except for the crease at the top right (same crease as the front one), the laminate lifts from the spine continues and there is a small piece missing. Inside the gatefold there is some writing on the maze. There is a 3cm split to the bottom edge. Complete with its original flame inner sleeve which has some creases but no splits or stains
