Description
First pressing of Roxy Music’s debut LP. Fully laminated gatefold cover. Pink rim labels. Corrected matrix on side two. Original Island blue inner sleeve.
Matrix - Side A: ILPS 9200 A-2U. Side B: ILPS 9200 B-3U (pressed B-2U - scratched 3 on top of 2 – see final photo).
My listening equipment is a highly revealing Yamaha PF-800 turntable (top quality suspended sub-chassis deck), pre/power amps and B&W Matrix Reference speakers. Before listing I always clean LPs on a vacuum record cleaning machine and I always determine audio quality by playing the LP not just by visual inspection. For this LP I have used an Ortofon MC10 Super MC cartridge.
Played on my system, this LP grades Excellent. Side one has some very minor background noise to the intro and the odd random soft tick. Side two has some very minor background noise to the intro and occasional quiet part plus a couple of clicks to Sea Breezes. The gatefold cover is fully laminated – later covers are only laminated to the inside spread. The cover is in excellent condition with just a very small crease to the front top left corner (see close-up photo).
Will be well packaged for safe transit.
