Description
There has never been anything like STORMCOCK. An initial folk scene failure that has come to be judged as one of the greatest albums ever made. Four songs, forty minutes blending folk and rock, poetry and philosophy, ROY HARPER and JIMMY PAGE.
Led Zep completists have long held that this is the finest example of Page's acoustic picking, but a contractual quirk led to his infamous billing as S. Flavius Mercurius (check the back cover) and all but doomed the album's commercial chances. Word of mouth has spread steadily through the years of this album's unique brilliance but subsequent CD issues, though they fetch enormous prices, fail to capture the power and the beauty of the LP's original sound...
This is the ORIGINAL AMERICAN PRESSING... rarer than EMI/Harvest. The album is in gorgeous NEAR MINT condition. Brilliant black sheen, virtually unblemished.
This copy belonged to an obsessive record collector who played his albums once (recording them to tape) and then upon his death it passed directly to me. This LP's only ever been played a handful of times and it shows. I know I'll never see this album in this condition again.
Cover's also in great shape. Minor scuffing and ring wear. There's a HOLE (visible) punched through the cover/sleeve... I don't have enough information to know whether that was meant to mark it as a promo or a remainder.
LP will ship USPS Priority. It's a little more expensive but I have too much respect for the album's condition to use a riskier method.
