See my other auctions this week for more Northern Soul, Popcorn, Rockabilly, and Rock & Roll 45s! Here’s one of the hardest Roy Orbison 45s to find (barring the obvious 1st pressing of Ooby Dooby!) This is Roy’s first single for the Monument label from 1959, with the original “lines” label from 1959. The songs are “Paper Boy” and “With The Bug”, number 409. The vinyl on this one is very very nice, grading a VG++ to Near Mint. The labels have a few lines on them, apparently from the original DJ who used this single (this came with a bunch of radio station 45s). This is a rather interesting single, as the A side foreshadows the great ballads Orbison would soon cut for the label. The flip is a straight-ahead 1950s rocker reminiscent of his days at Sun records, albeit with a more produced sound. INTERNATIONAL BIDS WELCOME.
