Description
Roy Smith & Serenity - I got the fever / My Marie - Delphi 0015
Firstly the easy bit. The vinyl is in an excellent condition,a few very light paper scratches, and plays great. The labels are unmarked.
Secondly the explanation. This is a great midtempo version - late 70`s/early 80`s sound - of the Georgia Prophets classic soul record, recorded by Roy Smith, who wrote the original and sang with the Georgia Prophets. I believe that Roy then owned Delphi records and made 2 or 3 recordings ( which book at anything from £60 to £300 ).
The catalogue number of this copy Delphi 0015 is attributed to another artist and a different track.
Basically this is not listed or acknowledged in any list I can find. However, I recently contacted an American dealer who is heavily into the " Beach " music scene to get info on the record. He tells me that it is very rare and highly sought after in USA, is included on the " Hey Baby Days of Beach Music " CD collection, Vol 9 ( along with the likes of Nolan Chance, Tony Galla etc ) and that Serenity was/is a female artist.
