Rush's third LP sees the band give you one side of their classic hard rock not unlike the first two albums, and another side of full on progressive rock!
Caress Of Steel in that respect seems like a transitional album for Rush, the band starting to slide into multi piece instrumental and vocal songs designed to be more atmospheric and conceptual. The album absolutely retains a mid 70's
pot smoke haze and innocence to it's simple yet complex scheme. Many a Rush fan will tell you this is their favorite album by the trio, mostly because it's so unafraid to be a trippy, hippy, spacey, jamming hard rock slab of stoner rock!
Classic hard rock gems like "Lakeside Park and "Bastille Day", and the epic six part journey on side two into "prog rock"!
Only Rush could have made this album,and it's an easy album to love.
