Description
This very RARE album was given out by Mercury Records, mostly to radio stations, as a promotion for Rush's upcoming "Exit Stage Left" album release. The "Roulette" title refers to the randomness of which of six possible, 2:00 minute excerpts is played when the record player needle sets onto the edge of the album. Any of the six song excerpts is possible. As opposed to regular albums where songs are placed on the record in "series" (one after another), this album has all six songs carved into the album in "parallel". So the needle moves from the edge of the record to the label for EACH song. The tracks are placed next to each other rather than one after the other. Depending on which track the needle takes after being set down onto the album, any of the six song excerpts can possibly play.
