Description
On her first issued record, 21-year-old Ruth Brown sings "It's Raining" and "So Long" on Atlantic 879, accompanied by Eddie Condon's NBC Television Orchestra. Bobby Hackett gets a short solo and an obbligato behind her on "So Long." His luminous tone is in evidence even in the ensembles.
Ruth Brown (vcl), acc by Bobby Hackett (tp); Will Bradley (tb); Dick Cary (alto-hrn); Peanuts Hucko (cl, ts); Ernie Caceres (bar); Joe Bushkin (p); Eddie Condon (g); Jack Lesberg (b); Sidney Catlett (d). Recorded in New York on May 25, 1949.
This record is in glossy E condition and plays very well. There are stickers on both labels.
I'm a longtime collector who is downsizing. I know how to pack records.
