Living legend Ryan Adams has re-staked his claim to being one of the world’s greatest songwriters by returning to the stage for the first time in two years and embarking on a small, solo acoustic tour of Europe. Playing a mix of new material and crowd pleasers, Adams is performing some of the best shows of his career.
With a seemingly endless well of songs – released and unreleased – it’s no surprise that Adams chose to press a limited edition tour-only 7” to mark the occasion. Empty Room/Nutshell features one brand new Ryan Adams recording, plus a cover of the Alice In Chains song.
Both the picture sleeve and record are brand new and the vinyl is unplayed, with each song listed as being the A-side. (Please see my photos for more details; the white flecks on the picture sleeve are part of the design. The picture on the front was taken by Ryan.) The 7” is, of course, pressed on Adams’ own Pax-Am label, with the individual catalogue number PAM-AM 010.
An absolute must-have for fans and collectors, the Empty Room/Nutshell 7” is extremely limited and was available to buy only at merchandise stalls on this European tour. When they’re gone, they’re gone! And, as stated above this copy was hand signed by Ryan Adams @ the Oxford show on the front cover in blue sharpie marker and looks as great as the music sounds. Sure to be a sought after collectors item.
