SADDHU BRAND "WHOLE EARTH RHYTHM" Anna Chakraborty's Musical Sewing Machine Record Company..ORIGINAL FIRST PRIVATE PRESSING out of SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA 1970..This private pressing lp was pressed in December 1969 but released in January 1970...VINYL: MINT (clean and glossy. I opened this sealed lp and played it once. TREMENDOUS !)....LABELS: M....COVER: Mint (still in tight Shrinkwrap)..Unique and RARE Private Pressing from former THE GREAT SOCIETY (with GRACE SLICK & DARBY, JERRY SLICK) member bass player, saxophone, flute and vocalist PETER VAN GELDER...After two years with THE GREAT SOCIETY (66-67) , VAN GELDER left the band and along with several future SADDHU BRAND members , went to India too study sitar and sarod . After two years in India VAN GELDER , along with the other members of SADDHU BRAND returned to San Francisco and began recording this PRIVATELY PRESSED ALBUM. . VAN GELDER handles vocals and plays sitar here. MICHAEL BELL vocals, acoustric guitar and sarod. JOSH COLLINS tabla and percussion and KENNY WILSON vocals, esraj and bamboo flute. Also features a 9 member female backing chorus..All original songs, with many excellent standout tracks: PEOPLE BRITTLE, DABI DAS SONG and WHOLE EARTH RHYTHM..A year after this private pressing was released, the album was picked up by Uni Records and re- released with a different cover.This is the LIMITED PRIVATE PRESSING VERSION RELEASED BY THE BAND MEMBERS........SADDHU BRAND "Whole Earth Rhythm" !!!..........................
