Description

This is a rare example of the original UK MONO pressing of SAFE AS MILK by CAPTAIN BEEFHEART AND HIS MAGIC BAND.

This 12” vinyl LP was released in the UK in February 1968 on Pye International (Blue Label).

I have owned this LP since I purchased it as an excellent used example in 1969.

It is in excellent playing condition (only very minor surface marks).

Cover and sleeve in very good condition (showing some signs of age considering LP is 48 years old). There is a mark across the top of the label on Side 1 (appears to be where a sticky label was removed - it does not obscure any detail – see photos). The UK release differs from the US version having a front cover that is more yellow and the back cover in black and white.

This should not be confused with the later 1969 UK release on the budget label Marble Arch/Pye International (MAL 1117) that has fewer tracks.

Label: PYE INTERNATIONAL

Cat. No. NPL 28110

Matrix:

Side 1: NPL 28110A-1 ¯ 6

Side 2: NPL 28110B-1 ¯ 6
