SAINT STEVEN “Over the Hills” TOP! 1968 Acid Fuzz Psych Gem M-

1969/Canada/Probe Records CPLP-4506….. here’s a gorgeous clean  original pressing of this rare psych lp. The cover is in solid VG+ condition with light corner dings/wear, delete hole lower right corner, faded name top right on front, crease across top right corner, light shelf wear mainly on the back, two light dings on the spine, otherwise solid with no splits. The vinyl is in M- like new condition with a couple of spots of light blemishes from the inner sleeve. The record looks and plays clean with clean fidelity! The labels are clean with a couple of light spindle marks. A very nice copy of this rare lp! Please check my auctions for other rock and psych lp’s. Good luck and thanks for looking!

Not to be confused with the Ohio-based One St. Steven, this Boston, Massachusetts-based outfit is one of those mystery acts nobody seems to know all that much about. While some references refer to it as a band, it was apparently a one-man act led by former Front Page Review and late-inning Ultimate Spinach alumnus Steve Cataldo. In  1969's John Turner produced "Over the Hills" and it’s certainly worth hearing. Musically the set offers up a bizarre mix of commercial folk-rock ('Grey Skies'), pseudo-psych moves ('Bastich 1'), hard rock ('Poor Small') and sound effects ('Voyage To Cleveland').

GRADING

MINT: I consider New Unplayed or Sealed items only.

M- or Mint Minus, very clean with clean visual appearance and sound, there may be a couple of light inaudible hairline scuffs or such and will be mentioned in the listing, a Mint- record looks and plays very clean. Same for the cover. Very clean with no delete or other issues.

EXCELLENT: still very collectable for most, visually and sonicly clean. A handful of light inaudible scuffs, or hairlines. Cover will be clean with little wear, or delete. No splits.

VG++ still a very nice copy with minimal wear, the vinyl will retain it's original gloss and can have some minor scuffs/scratches that don't affect play very much. Cover will have slight shelf wear, and or delete, minor split.

VG+ the vinyl will still retain much original gloss with a bit more scuffs and/or scratches I may list a very rare or desirable item with a lower grade, I will try to list all defects.
