SCHUBERT - WINTERREISE, Op. 89 + 8 LIEDER from SCHWANENGESANG
Featuring GÉRARD SOUZAY (baritone) & DALTON BALDWIN (piano)
This is a rare set. I bought this from a sound engineer, amongst his large collection of test pressings that he'd worked on. These are Factory Sample copies "SAMPLE RECORD NOT FOR SALE".
What makes this set rarer is that it is in a pre-production sleeve, made up from the boards that would be used for the final two lp set. It has been made larger to accommodate both records and you can see from the construction, that it is completely different to what would become the paste on backs of the official release.
A mono adapted sleeve as these were produced before the HiFi Stereo sleeves. No writing on the spine - blank. A rare find.
In the UK these records were issued as two separate lps, whereas in Holland and Germany they were a 2lp gatefold set.
