The Sun Ra Arkestra meets Salah Ragab in Egypt plus the Cairo Jazz Band. This is the original first pressing on the Greek Praxis label from 1983. This is LP features the Arkestra cuts on side A covering tunes of the Cairo Jazz Band, backed on the flip side with unique self penned numbers by Salah Rageb and the Cairo Jazz Band. The sound is timeless modern jazz with a serious eastern flavor. This LP should not be confused with the recent Salah Ragab reissue this auction is for a 100% original pressing on the rare Praxis label in great condition......... CONDITION:
A note on grading I use the Record Collector grading system with the addition of a (+) or a (-) to denote a slight increase or decrease in condition. Items described with an aural grade have been carefully played on a Thorens TD-124 MKII with an SME 3012 Tonearm and Ortofon SPU moving Coil Cartridge.
I have been collecting and trading records for many years and genuinely want you to be happy with your purchase. Record:
The surfaces feature a full lustre under direct angled light, the playing surface is wonderful with no sign of use, there are no other detractors. The disk is flat with no warp or buckle of any kind. The first press red Praxis labels show NO signs of use to the spindle hole. There is no writing, rips, stickers or other detractors. Condition grade visually = EX+ Aurally = EX+ …Please take the time to study the images above and listen to the sound clips which I hope illustrate the condition of this record far better than wordy descriptions
Cover:
The un laminated cover has retained it’s original colour, the edges / seams are arrow straight and the corners sharp and true. The spine is fully legible but is affected by a crease, the opening edge is sharp and un feathered. The top right and left of the cover displays mild creasing. The unlaminated back cover is very clean with no damage to speak of. No, stickers, rips, seam splits or tears. Condition Grade = EX (Excellent) Please take the time to study the images above for a clear view of condition
