THE BEATLES
ULTIMATE VINYL EXPERIENCE
ATTENTION BEATLES FANS:
Up for auction is an ORIGINAL 1966 MONO EDITION one of the most collectible and highly sought after Fab 4 albums of all-time:
YESTERDAY AND TODAY
(Capitol Records T - 2556 MONO - black / colorband label)
This is a West Coast (Los Angeles) pressing and bears RIAA #6 on the rear cover.
Tracks include:
Drive My Car / I'm Only Sleeping / Nowhere Man / Dr. Robert / Yesterday / Act Naturally / And Your Bird Can Sing / We Can Work It Out / Day Tripper / What Goes On / If I Needed Someone
This is a "3rd state" pressing. Upon the album’s original 1966 release, the replacement white "trunk photo" album slick was peeled back revealing the controversial “butcher photo” underneath.
This original mono edition boasts an almost intact "butcher photo" with vibrant colors.

The original owner attempted to peel the trunk cover using steam in 1966. This attempt was only half successful and, thus, the cover remained "torn in half" for over 40 years. PLEASE SEE THE 4th / LAST PHOTO IN THIS LISTING (please excuse the somewhat darker lighting).
In 2012, this cover was brought back to life and is now in its best possible collectible condition...
The entire butcher image can now be seen with vibrant color. Although some light residue from the "trunk" cover remains, the overall appearance of this butcher is quite stunning and will make a notable addition to any collection!

Spine is solid but “wavy” due to the original steam peel. Title and matrix number, however, are fully legible.
The back cover print is solid with some light aging and typical shelfwear on the otherwise WHITE background.
In addition, the original gold "CAPITOL '66" inner sleeve is also included along with a copy of the 1966 recall letter from Capitol records, explaining the substitute "trunk" cover.
Vinyl is in "VG" condition with some hairline scratches. Vinyl has been play-tested - no skips but some occasional surface noise.
The album, offered here "AS -IS" at an INCREDIBLE LOW PRICE will increase in value over the years. It is suitable for framing and will make a notable addition to any vinyl or rock memorabilia collection!
ANY QUESTIONS? PLEASE INQUIRE FOR ADDITIONAL PHOTOS AND INFO.
Don't miss your chance to own this "holy grail" of vinyl and rare piece of Beatles history!!!
