RARE original Marfil Records very first PROMOTIONAL STEREO press released only in Chile in 1971 (?) by EMI Odeon Chilena S.A. Records (EMI Records Chile), licensed from Pathe Marconi- EMI Records, France, with white/black labels and brown “mammoth” Marfil Records logo, catalog number 3031, with hand etched matrix numbers YCHIX-37052 Z in Side A and YCHIX-37053 Z in Side B. It’s interesting to notice that in back cover and labels the catalog number is 32c 058-023999 but I’ve not could find any information about that issue in other country, so it seems this record was only released here in Chile!!! Yes Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!!

“GRANDES EXITOS VOL. 2” is a compilation album of Salvatore Adamo sung in Spanish. And we got it like many cases of that period with and UNIQUE COVER!!! The cover is a non-laminated flipback cover made with 2 single pieces of cardboard, with front cover pasted in the flips of back cover. Front cover has an artwork I’ve not seen in any other record by Salvatore Adamo, it’s brown-tinted with a big photo of the singer, Marfil Records logo at top left corner, the tracklist written in Spanish at left side and at the bottom the name of the singer and album title “ADAMO – Grandes Exitos Vol. 2”. Back cover is also brown-tinted  with Marfil Records logo at top left corner, EMI Records logo and catalog number at top right corner and tracklist written in Spanish, translated to French, with full credits for songwriters and year of production of each song. In labels the name of the artist is complete, “SALVATORE ADAMO”, album title written in Spanish only and tracklist written in Spanish, translated to French, with “VENTA PROHIBIDA – PROMOCIONAL” (Sale Forbidden – Promotional) written in both sides!!! So, here you have the chance to own this rare compilation album of Salvatore Adamo with UNIQUE COVER singing in Spanish and PROMOTIONAL LABELS!!! WOW!!! A MUST TO HAVE for all fans and collectors of Salvatore Adamo!!!

The cover was already described and it’s in great VG- or VG condition both the front and back covers, clean and clear, no missing parts, no writings, some creases, moderate wear, more evident in edges and corners, some tears, faint blemishes, two little transparent tapes in back cover, ring marks, but no seam splits. The record is in superb VG or VG+ condition, glossy and clean, with loads of soft scuffs and hairlines and some light scratches, which don’t affect sound at all. Labels on both sides are in NM or NM+ condition, clean and clear, with not even spindle hole wear, with three initials, “M.E.T.”, written for some past owner in Side A. The sound is in strong EX- or EX condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, but with a soft background noise (background noise was normal in most of records pressed in Chile), with soft constant crackles which don’t cause distraction from the great sound this record keep from the beginning to the end. Overall a RARE record, only released in Chile, sure not for Minty minds, but in still a great condition, with a nice UNIQUE PICTURE SLEEVE, with still very good look and a more than decent and respectable sound quality after more than 40 years!!! And remember this is a PROMOTIONAL ISSUE only released in Chile with Salvatore Adamo singing in Spanish!!! WOW!!! Click on the pictures to enlarge and see the labels and cover in detail. WOW!!!

Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

SHIPPING (Packing and Postage)

We have an unique value worldwide: 

GBP15 for weight until 1kg (usually 1 or 2 records 12" depending of thickness of the vinyl)

GBP25 for weight 1-2kg (usually 3-5 records 12")

GBP7 for one 7” record

All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.

FEEDBACK

We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.
