Description

This is genuinely rare - don't take my word for it. Check out Gemm (www.gemm.com) - the home of anything that exists on vinyl. There are two listings at $US234 and $US280. Musicstack also has one copy at $US204. released on Astor, SPLP-1317 this is an Australian pressing making it even rarer. The cover is dedicated to "the people who have, by their prescence or ability, influenced pop in the last decade". Described as the only Sandie Shaw album you need to own, Reviewing The Situation features Shaw at the height of psychedelia covering - quite magnificently, Dylan's Lay lady lay, the Rolling Stones' Sympathy For the Devil, the Gibb Brothers' Sun In My Eyes, Rufus Thomas' Walking the Dog, The Beatles' Love Me Do , Donovan's Oh Gosh, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones' Your Time Is Gonna Come and two more. It's psych pop and mod psych at its best. Check out the extraordinary centrespread in the picture below, as well. Condition: Cover - a half-inch tear at the top of the spine and one-inch tear at the bottom, general wear and some ring wear,a small patch is missing off the back where a sticker has been removed. Overall: Good ++ to VG -. Vinyl: Apart from a small scratch at the beginning of the album which clicks lightly and for about 20 seconds the remainder is very good indeed. There is some scuffing and a little background crackling in the softer parts but rating hard I would still give it a VG+ to VG++. It's a very nice copy. If you have any more questions please ask. This is a real collector's item and I'm offering it at a great buy now price of $160 Australian which is about $US120 - a substantial saving compared to the other copies available. Of course, bidding may hand it to you cheaper.
