SANDY DENNY AND THE STRAWBS All Our Own Work (Hallmark SHM 813) RARE UK 1st Pressing MINT-
RARE UK first pressing of the recording debut of Sandy Denny And The Strawbs, "All Our Own Work" on Hallmark Records (1973).
Recorded in Copenhagen, Denmark in either 1967 (according to Dave Cousins) or 1968 (original liner notes), "All Our Own Work" was both the recording debut for Sandy Denny, as well as The Strawbs. Finding themselves in a Danish recording studio with some time and a few rolls of tape to spare, the touring band recorded "All Our Own Work" on the spur of the moment. Surprisingly, the compositions stand the test of time remarkably well, with solid instrumental work by the fledgling folk-rockers, as well as some assured vocals by a very young Sandy Denny. Of special note are an early version of the Sandy Denny staple "Who Knows Where The Time Goes", as well as a more sparsely arranged, but no less impressive "Tell Me What You See In Me", a standout track from The Strawbs album (May 1969).
