Description
SANFORD CLARK - LOWDOWN BLUES (ORIG.1960 LONDON E.P) "
DESCRIPTION:
This UK first press London EP has become increasingly hard to find in clean condition and I’m pleased to be able to offer this along with other top rarities listed this week for auction with no reserve.
Sanford Clark’s singing career was off to an auspicious start in 1956 when Lee Hazlewood, then a Phoenix deejay, decided to record him on a song titled ‘The Fool’. This EP features three songs penned by Lee Hazlewood with further kudos added to this EP recording by Duane Eddy, who plays on the track "Still as the Night". Please see below for further details including a full condition report, close up images and of course sound clips taken from each of the four cuts featured on this EP
Label: London, Plum / Silver:
CAT NO: RE-W 1256
TRACK LISTING:
Still As The Night / Sing ‘Em Some Blues / Bad Luck / My Jealousy
Please Listen To The Sound Clip Of Both Sides Of This EP Taken From The Actual Record For Sale... Let your ears decide: (N.B This recording has been made with a very low bit rate - the actual record sounds far better)
CONDITION:
A note on grading I use the Record Collector grading system with the addition of a (+) or a (-) to denote a slight increase or decrease in condition. Items described with an aural grade have been carefully played on a Thorens TD-124 MKII with an SME 3012 Tonearm and Ortofon SPU moving Coil Cartridge.
I have been collecting and trading records for many years and genuinely want you to be happy with your purchase. For this reason I treat grading very seriously and strictly enough to please all potential bidders… all of Audio Grails records are guaranteed. If you'd like any further details, feel free to e-mail me with your questions or requests.
Cover:
The front laminated flip back St. James Press cover displays sharp edges to all sides. The opening edge displays no feathering, tears or damage. There is no writing, stickers or other undesirable features to speak of. The lamination over the years has become yellowed, yet the colours remain unfaded to the front of the jacket. On the reverse of the cover the 3 flip back strips are fully intact and sharp, The unlaminated back slick is slightly discoloured with very, very mild foxing and ring wear. All text is 100% clear and legible. Overall this is a nice cover (see images for detail) Condition = VG+
Record:
The Surfaces of the record display a full glossy sheen featuring a few non sounding paper scuffs only under direct angled light. The disk is flat with no warp or buckle of any kind. The wonderful Plum Silver London labels show light signs of use to the spindle hole only. There is no writing, rips, stickers or other detractors. The audio quality of this MONO pressing is a total joy, I have listened through to both sides keenly and the resultant grade of this copy is a solid EX (Excellent) condition both visually and aurally…Please take the time to study the images above and listen to the sound clips which I hope illustrate the condition of this record far better than wordy descriptions
Over The Years I Have Been Fortunate Enough To Buy Some Incredible Collections And Now It's Time To Give These Records A New Home.
