Description

Savoy Brown---"Getting To The Point"---Ultra Rare Signed Copy---Original UK 1st Press Mono Copy In G. Playing Condition On The Red Unboxed Decca Label---1A and 1A From 1968---Signed on the back by Kim Simmonds (been wIth the band 52 years!), the Late Lonesome Dave (Foghat), Roger Earl (still with Foghat), Chris Youlden (went on to a solo career) & Tony Stevens (Slow Ride)

This is a UK copy from 1968 in mono on the red unboxed Decca label, cat. no. LK.4935 with matrices 1A and 1A.

Vinyl: G. The vinyl is in reasonable condition with a pretty good shine but lots of light scratches and other marks. It plays through with no skips or jumps and has some heavy surface noise, crackle and some ticking (no bad ones, though). The music from this early incarnation of Savoy Brown is just a wonderful mix of prog and blues and is great to listen to.

Labels: EX. The red unboxed labels are in nice condition with no marks and the silver text is still shiny on the vibrant red. There is heavy use spindle wear.

Sleeve: G. The laminated sleeve is not in great condition and, as well as a lot of wear and creasing, the front has sellotaped edges which goes round to the unlaminated back. The back itself has been written on using some nice bright colours, but does, of course, have those 5 signatures of the band. They were signed just after Tony Stevens took over from Rivers Jobe on bass. The rarest is Lonesome Dave (Peverett) who formed the band, Foghat and who sadly died  from cancer complications in February 2000 at the age of 56.

With a low start price you could get yourself a real bargain.

Many thanks for looking at this and our other vinyl to be auctioned.

Please note that all records we sell, unless they are unplayed, are listened to in their entirety and are graded generously according to Record Collector guidelines. None of the vinyl has jumps or skips unless advised in the description.
