Description

SAX 2322 New World Sawallisch BLUE/SILVER, NR/MINT

Dvorak: "New World" Symphony - "Carnaval" Overture.

Wolfgang Sawallisch and the Philharmonia Orchestra.

UK pressed Columbia Records stereo LP, SAX 2322. Earliest issue blue/turquoise and silver labels.

Vinyl in very near mint condition. Hard to detect any spider trace marks at centre spindle areas. Surfaces have a rich and bright gloss and are free of any marks. Appears hardly and carefully played.

Labels have a nice sheen still, and neither has any damage, stickers, inscriptions etc.

Sleeve also in excellent condition. Very clean and bright still. The front still has a very vivid gloss. Original stereophonic sticker intact and with just a hint of top edge peeling. Rear is clean and unmarked with just some very minor and uniform age darkening. Backflaps in perfect order. Tips and extremities have also fared very well. There is just a touch of a split and fraying to the bottom right hand corner, but this is marginal, and otherwise tips, seams and entry side are all very crisp and neat. Spine still has a really good appearance.

Not the rarest SAX by a long chalk, but nice to find an extant issue in such clean condition.
