Description
Composer: Johann Strauss Title: Die Fledermaus Artists: Otto Ackermann, Philharmonia Orchestra Label: Columbia Cat. No: SAX 2336 & SAX 2337 Stereo No. of discs: 2 Discs: EX+ Sleeves: EX-
Stunning copy of this 2LP set with blue/silver labels.
The discs are both in incredible condition - NO hairlines, marks, scuffs or spindle marks whatsoever. The only flaw is that sides 1 & 3 carried 'Factory Sample - Not For Sale' stickers. On Side 1 this has been completely removed, leaving a faint shadow of the shape of the label on very close inspection. On Side 3 the sticker has only been partially removed. Please see photo's 4 & 6. Apart from these sticker removals, both these discs are a rock solid NM.
Outer sleeves are in great shape - clear vibrant colours and fully intact laminate with immaculate spines. There is minor storage wear to the opening edges and each sleeve has about 0.5cm of greater wear to the bottom right hand corner. The words 'about 1961-2' have been written in small, neat writing to the rear of both sleeves.
The original Inner sleeves are flawless.
The discs have been cleaned on a Moth Mk2 Pro record cleaning machine with L'art Du Son fluid. Postage will be in a professional record mailer with board stiffeners and the discs removed from the outer sleeves to avoid splits during transit. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you need any further info, photos etc and I'll go out of my way to help.
Record Collectors Grading System
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.
